Prayer for day 8

In this sorrow and need that weighs upon me, finding no human remedy, I turn to you with full confidence, O Blessed Martin, my advocate and protector. I trust in your powerful intercession before the merciful God: may He pardon my faults and free me from the evil that afflicts me. Grant me your spirit of sacrifice and resignation so that I may receive whatever comes with faith and offer it to God. O heavenly Father, through the beloved names of Jesus and Mary and the merits of your faithful servant Martin, help me in this trial. Do not let my body be imprisoned, my flesh wounded, my soul lost, or my blood shed. In you, glorious Martin, I place all my hope. Amen.

Saint Martin de Porres, pray for us.

Traditional prayers

Our Father

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory Be

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen.
