Catholic Foundations for Beginners

Begin a planned 40-day introduction to Catholic belief, worship, prayer, and daily life. Designed for beginners and those revisiting the foundations, this journey aims to build an initial understanding of the faith and identify practical next steps for continued learning. The lessons follow four connected parts: belief in God, Christ, and the Church; worship and the seven sacraments; Christian living through grace, conscience, and charity; and prayer, including the Our Father, Scripture, Marian devotion, and perseverance. Each day offers an opening prayer, a verified Scripture passage, an original teaching of at least 300 words in Dominic's conversational voice, two reflection questions, a personal prayer and practical resolution, a takeaway, and a short comprehension quiz. Allow approximately 15 minutes for reading, reflection, and prayer. This introductory resource supports further formation and parish guidance. Completing the journey is not sacramental initiation or an independent authorization to receive the sacraments. Sources: Sacred Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Parts I-IV, organized around the profession of faith, celebration of the Christian mystery, life in Christ, and Christian prayer. Exact Scripture and Catechism references appear within each daily lesson. Catechism index: https://www.vatican.va/content/catechism/en.html

Returning to Confession

Returning after a long time can leave you wondering what to say, how to prepare, and where to begin. This planned seven-day journey offers a clear, prayerful path back to the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation, with approximately 15 minutes of reading, reflection, and prayer each day. Beginning with the father's welcome in Luke 15, we explore Christ's gift of reconciliation, the priest's ministry and the sacramental seal, an honest examination of conscience, contrition and the intention to change, how to confess remembered grave sins, absolution, penance, and making amends. The final day considers how to continue in friendship with God after confession. Each day includes an opening prayer, Scripture, a guided Catholic teaching, focused reflection questions, a personal prayer and practical resolution, a memorable takeaway, and a short comprehension quiz. You may go to confession before completing the journey if an opportunity is available.
