Seventh Sorrow and Joy of St. Joseph: The Loss and Finding of the Child Jesus
FamilyHoly FamilySeven Sorrows and Joys of St. JosephFinding of Jesus in the TempleSt. Joseph
O pattern of all holiness, glorious St. Joseph; having lost the Child Jesus through no fault of thine own, thou didst seek Him sorrowing for the space of three days, until with great joy thou didst possess Him again, who was thy life, finding Him in the Temple sitting in the midst of the doctors. By this sorrow and this joy, we supplicate thee with our hearts upon our lips to interpose on our behalf so that we may never lose Jesus by mortal sin; but if, to our great misfortune, we should ever lose Him, grant that we may seek Him with unceasing sorrow until we find Him again favorable to us, especially at the moment of our death, so that we may pass to the enjoyment of Him in heaven, where with the Saints we shall sing His divine mercies forever. Amen.
