Prayer to Christ the Morning Star by St. Bede the Venerable
St. Bede the VenerableHopeJesus ChristLight of Christ
O Christ, our Morning Star, Splendor of Light Eternal, shining with the glory of the rainbow, come and waken us from the greyness of our apathy, and renew in us the gift of hope. Grant, O Lord Jesus, that as we read and meditate upon Thy holy words, we may drink ever more deeply from the living fountain of Thy wisdom and come at length to behold Thy face in glory. Amen.
