Fourth Sorrow and Joy of St. Joseph: The Prophecy of Simeon

O most faithful Saint, who wast admitted to a share in the mysteries of our Redemption, glorious St. Joseph; although the prophecy of Simeon concerning the future sufferings of Jesus and Mary caused thee a pang like unto death, yet at the same time it filled thee with a blessed joy for the salvation and glorious resurrection of innumerable souls which he also foretold would come to pass. By this sorrow and this joy, obtain for us that we may be among the number of those who through the merits of Jesus and the intercession of the Virgin Mother are to rise again in glory. Amen.
