Collect for the Gift of Tears and Compunction of Heart
ContritionRepentanceConversion
Almighty and most merciful God, who to quench the thirst of Thy people didst bring forth from the rock a fountain of living water: draw forth from the hardness of our hearts tears of compunction; that we may be able to bewail our sins and merit to obtain their remission from Thy mercy. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
