PRAYERS · LITURGICAL HYMN
Aeterne Rerum Conditor (Sunday Lauds Hymn by St. Ambrose)
Morning PrayerLiturgy of the HoursRepentance
Framer of the earth and sky,
Ruler of the day and night,
With a glad variety
Tempering the gloom and light:
Lo! the solemn herald cries,
Watchman of the shadowy plains,
Bringing tidings from the skies
As the deeper darkness wanes.
Jesu! look on us who fall,
By Thy look to grace restore;
At Thy look our sins recall,
And in contrite tears deplore.
Shine Thou in our senses' night,
Drive our slumbers far away;
Let our voices first unite
In the praises of the day. Amen.
