Saint Martin of Tours Novena
A nine-day Catholic devotion to Saint Martin of Tours, the fourth-century bishop remembered for dividing his cloak with a beggar, his charitable works and his service to the Church. The nine daily texts here are new English translations of selected historical Latin stanzas and supplications for Saint Martin, recorded in Dom Prosper Guéranger’s The Liturgical Year. They are prayers and verses specifically about Saint Martin, NOT the universal Holy Helpers novena. The original Latin sequence is a hymn, not a pre-existing nine-day novena: the division into nine days is an editorial devotion grounded in the authentic saint-specific source. November 2–10; feast November 11.
