Saint Hubert Novena

Nine days of prayer seeking the intercession of Saint Hubert, bishop and traditional patron of hunters. This devotion uses a historical prayer to Saint Hubert printed in 1864 in the Troyes popular prayer-books and documented in a later French collection of patron saints. The saint-specific prayer is repeated on each of nine days, October 25–November 2, ahead of his November 3 commemoration. The English text here is a fresh translation of that older French prayer, NOT the separately published modern Catholic Doors hunters’ novena. References to rabies, fever and danger are historical devotional language; an animal bite requires urgent medical care, not prayer alone.
