Christ the King — Nine-Day Consecration (Leo XIII, 1899)
Nine-day devotional arrangement for Christ the King using the actual Act of Consecration of the Human Race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, issued with Pope Leo XIII’s 1899 encyclical Annum Sacrum. Christ’s universal kingship is explicitly invoked in this original public-domain text. IMPORTANT: the original 1899 act is NOT itself a prescribed nine-day Christ the King novena, and this is NOT the USCCB’s distinct 2026 Christ the King Novena. The historical text is repeated from November 14 through the November 22, 2026 solemnity, following the same dates as the USCCB observance. The original prayer includes 1899-era descriptions of other beliefs; these are preserved for source fidelity and should be read in their historical context rather than mistaken for a modern interfaith statement.
